A Tiny Series // Journal #4

Another month has come & gone, and apparently it’s already half way through May? How does time manage to pass so quickly, yet so slowly all at the same time? It feels like it’s still December yet spring is here and summer is just around the corner.

It normally is pretty cool here in April, along with the occasional snow. We were treated to an especially nice month of weather with little snow and my kids could wear sandals – this is a big deal (and I mean wear sandals when it’s nice, not like when Canadians insist it’s “spring” because it’s 5C out)

This month’s tiny journal is twice the size of last month’s at 3″ x 3″, and is made up of pages from an old accordion music book! The covers are cardstock with leftover paint from a round of mono prints I did a while back. This journal took longer as I wanted to develop the textures and mood further than previous journals. I stayed within a blue and white palette and repeated the theme of rain, storms, clouds, etc. You can see art journals number 1, number two and number 3 in previous posts

This month, it’s aptly named April Showers. Enjoy!

This little book is totally fabulous, what a great idea and I love the way you present your pages. Given that I love each and every page, my favourites are 1, 8, 9 and 11 and the front and back covers. Top class!

Me too! It’s the last page but my favourite page. I can’t wait to see the whole collection too. I hope I can make it!

I love this idea, especially the limited palette and theme, it really comes together nicely.

Thanks Clare! The limited palette was a challenge for me – but it was a worthwhile venture.

Hey girl! I used the same quote in one of my art journals this week. Great minds you know. It was the one about summer and rain. I love seeing your tiny journals each month. I am inspired to make my own. Thanks!
